Prophetic Look at Moral Decline & Culture Wars in End Times

Are we seeing a moral decline and cultural breakdown as a result of Godlessness in the Last Days?

In his second letter to Timothy, Paul gave him a prophetic picture of what the moral fabric would look like as the end times approached. Read in light of the current cultural norms and decide if there is a authentic moral decline.

He said "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth..." 2 Timothy 3.

Was Paul describing what has always been throughout all of human history? Or was he describing, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the days we now live in?

When polled about moral and cultural issues, many people answer through their own, sometimes very limited worldview. Things in their life and sphere of influence may seem just fine.

But what do the headlines tell us about the current state of affairs? Is the media only reporting the bad? Are these cultural attitudes leading us down the highway to hell? Once again...
