Who Am I?
Welcome to Eileens Blog

Eileen Lawson, LegaBoom ContributorSeptember 21, 2009 Who Am I? When asked to contribute to the Legaboom site, I asked myself, “Who am I? What do I have to offer”? I have made many mistakes in my life and still continue to make mistakes at times. Then as I prayed and pondered this the answer became clear. I am a follower of Jesus Christ filled with His Holy Spirit. I am a child of the living God.
Everyone who believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 1:32-34), and that he came into the world as a man (Luke 2:10), died on the cross and rose again on the third day (John 18-20) and has accepted him as their Lord and Savior (John 3:16)has something to offer the world that will make a Kingdom of God difference here in our time. So today my encouragement is that we realize it is not about who we are but about who Jesus is. We have a call to fulfill the great commission to go to all the world and make disciples of Jesus teaching them to obey all He has commanded us (Matthew 28:19-20). As each believer in Jesus takes the next course of action set before them following the nudge of the Holy Spirit (which often comes as quiet “knowing” of what to do in a situation) such as offering water to the thirsty, sharing a smile with someone who looks sad, giving food to the hungry the world will be changed for the Kingdom of God. Take whatever step you see before you today. Trust that God will use it to make the impact He desires. Often we overlook opportunities to make a difference because we think the opportunity will look different, perhaps we think that it will be grander and attract more attention. But if we look to Jesus as our example we see He often reached out to people on a one to one level. He saw a need and met it. Each of us can do that as we rely on the Holy Spirit within us to empower us to live out our faith in Jesus (John 14:12). Live out your faith today in a practical way, the world will be different because you did.
